Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral
April 18-22, 2007
Carlisle Fairgrounds Carlisle, Pennsylvania

I have a friend and business associate, Rich, who is really into cars... I’ve learned he likes them all and if circumstances permitted, he would own as many as possible from all the various eras of fine American automobiles and probably many foreign models as well. I knew about his interest but I didn’t realize how involved he was with this pursuit – as it turns out, he is a font of information when it comes to these matters. I also learned that our friend Kevin, who I considered a devout Harley kind of guy, was no slouch either when it comes to these matters. The week of April 16th found the three of us on a road trip to Baltimore to inspect a property. Our route to avoid New York City traffic took us through Harrisburg, PA, very close to Carlisle where my friends just happened to know the ‘Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral’ was underway. They couldn’t resist the side trip to spend a bit of time at this event. So, we did what we had to do work wise and planned to visit the car show on the return trip north.

Cars aren’t something I’m especially interested in actually but I was in agreement with their wishes to check this show out. I’m glad we did because the three or four hours we spent turned out to be a pretty neat time. I’ve been to some large motorcycle rallies with many vendors and scads of people but I must comment that these four-wheel types really how to do it up – the Carlisle Fairgrounds is a large area and it was jam-packed with vehicles, vendors and people of every description. I wandered the grounds, camera in hand and decided to get some imaging done although with as many people around as there were, this was no simple task. As you view these images keep in mind these are about as close to ‘snapshots’ as I take these days. The camera was handheld in a variety of lighting conditions – no tripod, flash or cable release was employed for this group….

I don’t plan to add much text to this account. Just take a look at what we viewed and enjoy…

So ends this photo-journal of our morning in Carlisle. These images represent only a portion of the overall display in a fairly brief walk around of the many vehicles and vendor areas inside and out at the facility. This event is held each spring and fall at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. If cars are something you have an interest in this would be a terrific event to attend, kind of like Sturgis for four-wheeled vehicles…
