A distinctive
northern constellation often
referred to as the ‘lazy W’ located
close to and circling
Polaris, the North Star,
near the galactic pole. Because
it is circumpolar we can
always view it
Cassiopeia
is rich in star clusters and
nebulae and includes two Messier
objects, M52 & M103, both
open clusters. The brightest
star cluster in the
constellation is NGC 457, which
contains around 80 stars and is
just visible to the naked
eye from a dark sky
