Constellation Pegasus
A large northern constellation prominent in autumn skies in a relatively sparse part of the heavens
Commemorates the flying horse of myth. Pegasus is found in several mythological accounts
Contains the ‘Great Square’, a bold feature in an otherwise fairly dim star area
In 1995,  51 Pegasi was found to be the first star attended by a planet
The star Alperatz was once Delta Pegasi, but was it was officially removed to become Alpha Andromedae, the brightest star in Andromeda. Alpheratz (‘navel of the steed’ in Arabic) is the upper left corner of the Great Square.
